Readiness tells you which onboard emissions self-tests have finished since the vehicle’s OBD information was cleared.
Ready, incomplete or unsupported
An incomplete monitor still needs to run. An unsupported monitor is absent on that vehicle. Your reader may use different labels for the same distinction. Check the monitor that matters for your fault or inspection.
Why one monitor may take longer
Each test has its own conditions. A particular temperature, fuel level or driving pattern can matter. Use the OEM drive-cycle instructions when you need to verify a repair.

California BAR’s Smog Check OBD reference describes its allowed incomplete monitors and permanent-code rules by vehicle and inspection category. Other jurisdictions have their own criteria.
